Robin’s Blog Hyjacked by Husband.

April6

Hello Robin fans…this is her husband, Terry. I am sitting at her computer downloading some pictures of bad drainage on the side of our yard! (bummer) Sitting here, looking at her blog I could not resist the urge to blog. So, I thought that this video would be something really good to share with you girls…and few guys. It’s a really simple explanation of Twitter. So, enjoy! There is a good chance that Robin might delete this post when she finds it…so if you comment quickly, and encourage her to keep this post that would rock. Gotta run, cya!

This is a Test of the “Terry, Please Fix My Blog” Emergency System

April5

This is only a test. However, since my blog was updated, my posts were once again not being picked up by any blog reader.

Would you be so kind as to comment and let me know if this post showed up on your reader and that is why you are here?

If this were an actual emergency, the kids and I would be hiding under the stairs with our new weather radio while Terry would be outside looking for the funnel cloud to hit our house. So he could Twitter it.

That is all.

April1

The best I ever felt was when Reia was about 18 months old. I had begun a running program with my friend Holly. We would get up three mornings a week a “run” two miles. Frankly, I didn’t like it and I never got to the point of being able to run two miles without stopping. It was usually a lung thing and not “my legs couldn’t handle it” problem. I did, however, look the best I had in a long time.

Fast forward five years. I’m now in the worst shape I’ve ever been in. And yes, I take into account that I have given birth one more time and I’m 36 now. (It does make a difference. ) I’ve been wanting to get back into running, but just really haven’t had the motivation to stick with it. I actually enjoy it at this point, but life has gotten in the way; I’ve come up with one excuse after another….until now.

I saw how good Amanda looked and she just started running within the past year. And I remembered that I used to be very disciplined. I just did it. Even when I didn’t feel like it.

So, my house is still a mess from yesterday’s tornado chaos. (I’ll post pics of that soon!). Reia has ballet tonight, and I need to feed them before we leave. None the less, I was on the treadmill as soon as I got home.

It starts today. I am training for something over Labor Day. Don’t know what yet since I haven’t done the research, but something.

I can, and will look, amazing for the wonderful vacation to Napa Valley Terry and I have planned in July.

PS Congrats Amanda on your achievement!!!

New Look, New Me

March23

Okay, it’s not really a new me. I’m still exactly the same, but my blog has a new spring fresh look!

Just wanted to say THANKS! to my main squeeze for hooking me up today.

Hope you all had a great spring break and I as much as I would love to say I was totally jazzed about going to work tomorrow, I’m not. =(

Cheers to the wonderful weather up and coming this week! Only 10 weeks to summer. ; )

When Kids Get to be Kids

March21

Although very windy, the day couldn’t have been more beautiful yesterday. I cleaned, had a friend over for lunch, and then had all kinds of people traipsing through the house fixing stuff under warranty.

When the girls came and asked me if they could play in the mud, I’m not sure I was expecting this:
girls muddy Reese Muddy

They were all covered in Oklahoma red clay. Amazingly, it did come out of their clothes. It was totally worth it to see them having that much fun.

On the Topic of AI

March18

What the heck is the audience doing? Waving their hands back and forth in the air on every single performance?? COME.ON. Just as staged as Ryan’s “impromptu” iPhone commercial mid-show.

Now, for an actual re-cap of the show go here.

Spring break day two is over. =( We had lots of fun just hanging out while it rained all day. I love my girls.

Night Y’all!

I’ve Worked So Hard

March18

Last night as I was getting ready to go to bed, I finished putting dishes in the dishwasher and pushed the button so they would be clean and dry when I woke up. I started the oven to self clean the mess I had made earlier during the day so it would be clean when I woke up. I threw Reese’s clothes (that had been pooped in thankyouverymuch) into the washer, and pushed the button so I could throw them into the dryer, and push another button when I woke up.

As I went to bed so many things were being cleaned for me. I thanked God for all of the inventors of the world, and prayed someone would come up with a machine to fold clothes, clean the floors, and scrub the toilets while I was at work…because cleaning is so exhausting. =) I’d so rather just sit outside, drink sweet tea, read a magazine and watch my kids play.

What are you doing on your spring break?

Spring Break

March14

Spring Break starts at 3:30 today.

I am currently the happiest personon the planet. Well, me and every other teacher America who has Spring Break this week.

That is all. Please return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Why We Had Dinner Out on a Thursday

March13

Terry: “My most incredible beautiful wife, what are we having for dinner?” (dramatic license taken)

Me: “Chicken Walnut Saute’ with brown rice.”

Terry: “It smells more Worcestershire-y than normal.”

Me: Funny look on my face as I pick up the bottle of Worcestershire sauce..”That may be because I was supposed to saute’ the chicken in SOY SAUCE.”

Terry: Thinking this is all wildly funny and laughing.

Me: Totally hacked off at wasting a perfectly good package of chicken.

We went out for Mexican. Of course, the incident was twittered.

Children Need to Learn the Art of Tact

March12

If you’re feeling bad about yourself (body image) please read on and feel a little better….

While discussing family traits with my eighth graders today, one of the girls pops up and says to me, “Ms. Storch, I’m not trying to be perverted or anything, (I should have stopped listening RIGHT THEN) but you have a big ole’ butt for a white girl!”

After she saw the look on my face, she followed it up with, “But that’s good. It’s not dragging the ground or anything like some ladies your age would.”

I feel much better; thank you.

And on that note, I’ll be hitting the gym later today. And possibly turning my resignation in after that.
