And the Weekend Ended with a Bang…or a Snip
Reia was the perfect toddler and preschooler. You could change her path of action with “the look”. She ill-prepared me for child #2 who stares down “the look” while contemplating if a spanking is worth what ever it is she wants to do.
The answer is almost always and emphatically…yes, yes it is.
So, when I came home last night from a party across the street, Terry informed me I needed to go look at my daughter. But, oh yeah, before that, look on the counter.
On the counter was a ziploc baggie about half full of hair. Reese’s long, naturally highlighted light brown tresses. My face turned white as I walked into view the damage.
There she sat in the bathtub. Most of the hair on the left side of her head was gone.
“I was in trouble, Mommy.”
I just sat there and thought, you have no idea. I tried to be so mad. The she smiled at me. And dang it all, I couldn’t help but laugh. I turned around of course, but she had already seen me cave. Too late.
The pictures I post on here don’t quite turn out big enough, so here are the pics Terry posted on his flickr. Enjoy! or Share my pain. Whatever.
Happy Monday, y’all!
PS Reia did the same thing when she was 3. I should have been waiting for it, right?
Nice.
Several months ago Seth took the trimmers to the very top of his head. There was a small section that was buzzed with all the other hair around it that was WAY longer.
At least it maks for great conversations, right?
How fun! Just consider it giving her a summer cut just a bit early!
And last post you were complaining about giving boring updates on your life …. tee, hee, hee!
Okay, that would have had me through the rood, I would have been so mad. But I must say, that last pic of the final haircut is just sweet. Her hair looks cute, but the look on her face is absolutely precious.
“roof,” it would have had me through the ROOF.
I don’t even know what “rood” is. I mean I know what it IS. Very familiar with it actually. Just not spelled quite that way.
Yikes! I never even thought about the fact that one of mine might do that. I better go lock up my scissors.
Isn’t it funny though how even though they do something wrong, they can be so cute so that you just get over it.
oh my!! we didn’t get to experience that here, thankfully!! her final haircut is way too cute!
thanks for stopping by my blog.
that is really funny….probably so because i dont have children.
and when i do and i get sad when they cut their hair i will remember this and laugh.
i am sure i would have laughed too.
I just love that Reese of yours…and the stare down thing must be something with that class. Mikala could CARELESS if she gets into trouble. Her 2 year old sister behaves better than she does MOST of the time…so frustrating. Reese’s hair is adorable.
Okay, in reading your post about Reese it makes me feel better as her teacher. She is SO sweet, but she has a mind of her own (just like the rest of her class!). I thought I was the only one who was seeing the Reese who likes to test the waters! I love both of your daughters and would love to have them over sometime. I will be off on Fridays beginning in June so if there is a good day, just let me know. Have a great one!
