Technology Induced Chore Chart
For a while now I’ve been mulling over chore charts and allowance plans for Reia. When to start one? What should be on it? Should she get her allowance for chores or should they just be expected because she is a part of this family? Then, how much does a six year old receive for allowance?
I went to Chart Jungle first. I’ve printed many of their charts for various tasks in the past, not the least of which was potty training. There I found a link to Handipoints…an online chore chart…a chort if you will! And I must say, I LOVE IT! So does Reia.
It took me a bit to navigate the process, but Reia now has a chort that includes things from getting ready for school on time to putting her clothes away. There are tons of lists to choose from. Every time she completes a task she can log on (with her own ID and password) and check the items off. She can earn bonus points to spend on her animated cat or handiponts. The handipoints are kept track of in order to earn her allowance.
The allowance that I still have not decided on yet.
So, if you have been looking for a fun, paper free-sticker free –or just plain FREE–way to start a chort for your own little bits, check it out!
And if you just hyper-ventilated at not having a paper chart with stickers, Handipoints does give you a printable option. But c’mon people…be eco-friendly.
Wow Robin that is so cool!! How helpful that would have been a few years ago for me. I don’t think we are in that chart stage anymore. This should really help a lot of people. I am going to send the link to my sisters here in town so that they can make one up for their kids.
Hope you had a great weekend. I am so glad we do not have school or work tomorrow!
Blessings,
Vickie
That’s very cool! I’ll have to remember this site for Malachi.
bit of wisdom from Robin. Thanks.
Love this, we are def. checking into it.
Great tip - thanks! I struggle in the choring area for sure! Share MORE tools and I will check back!
How great is that my “green” friend! Currently we use a magnetic board however, Gavin loves to come through and rearrange all the magnets and I loose track…. the online chart may be the way to go. I think Kamryn would enjoy tracking her progress as well.
Hi Robin! This is just a tiny reply to let you know that I am thinking about you and that I’m saying a quick prayer that you are content in 2008.
Thank you for the tip on the Chort.
How in the world did I not know that you moved? Clearly I’ve let the bloggy side of my brain slide. I was just thinking the other day that we need to catch up. OK, well I guess I’ve got some reading up on here to do.
Let’s talk soon!
Chort! I love that! I need to look into this for my boys. Thanks for the link.
