Change is Good; Regular Dr Pepper is Better

November6

In my effort to drop a few unwanted pounds before, during and after the holidays, I am trying to switch to Diet Coke.

I am actually a Dr Pepper drinker. Ahhh, the sweet nectar of happiness….

Where was I? Oh, yes, Diet DP. So, my foray into Diet DP was unsuccessful mainly, I think, because it just isn’t the same. No matter what the commercials say, Diet DP tastes…like Diet. And diet stinks.

My new strategy is drinking Diet Coke. I don’t really drink regular Coke, so I’m hoping my taste buds won’t revolt against it, and hopefully I will be consuming anywhere from 1050-2100 calories less per week.

It takes 3500 calories lost (eating less) or spent (working out) to lose one pound. Drinking Diet puts me about halfway there each week.

I’ll keep you posted!

Well, that freaked me out! I was here late last night catching up on my reading because your techie husband, I assume, burned your feed and I subscribed and voila I was finally getting updates. Which of course made me happy but now this… a whole new blog, wow. It’s really pretty! Can I stick with the same feed or should I resubscribe?

I was a mountain dew fanatic for years and then when I realized, probably when i was your age, that drinking diet would help with the weight I switched. It took a bit of getting used to but I stuck with it because HELLO it had to do with my weight and now all normal soda is what tastes yucky to me. Isn’t it amazing how we adjust?

I wonder if I applied that “sticking with it” principle to my spiritual life if I’d walk a little straighter on His path?

Sister. Diet DP is THE only way to go with Diet. Trust me. I was the poster child AGAINST diet drinks until
3.5 years ago. I took sugar out of my diet TOTALLY for two weeks. By the end of the two weeks, Diet DP
tasted like chocolate chip cookies. And I’ve never gone back. It’s from the Lord.

    Lynse,
That’s why I’m going with DC. It’s not the same drink, but different..it’s just a different drink all together!!

I’ve nixed sodas altogether, working on eliminating excess sodium, caffeine, sugar AND artificial sweeteners. Pray for me.

Good Luck! I was a Dr. Pepper hound and recently gave it up. It’s rough letting such a loyal friend go!

Okay, I am a reformed DP addict. Have you thought about Coke zero? I love diet coke but I am starting to like Zero. Give it a try and see what you think! :)

Followed a link from Cindy’s page—and I just have to jump in here. Try Diet Pepsi Jazz!!They have a black cherry/French vanilla that is really good! And I have to agree—Diet Dr. Pepper—-ugh! My husband likes it, though.
